Penmac Staffing Services, Inc. announced today that it has acquired Employment Resource Center, Inc. (ERC), a staffing firm serving central Minnesota.
The acquisition includes three ERC offices located in Brainerd, Wadena, and Hutchinson, Minnesota, as well as a vendor-on-premise location in Hackensack, Minnesota. This is the first acquisition for Penmac Staffing. Penmac CEO Tim Massey said, “Employment Resource Center is a homegrown and family-run business that fits the Penmac culture and philosophy of placing people first. After vetting several staffing firm offerings over the past six months, we were excited to discover this purchase opportunity. During our search, we focused on firms that were dedicated to unparalleled service delivery and satisfaction. The employees of ERC embodied these qualities, which was a key component in our decision. We are excited to grow our employee-ownership into Minnesota, and we look forward to working with our new client partners and adding ERC employees to the Penmac family.”
ERC locations will be rebranded to Penmac over the course of the year. All ERC staff will become Penmac employee-owners. Penmac has been 100% employee-owned since 2010.
ERC was founded in 2007 in Brainerd, Minnesota by Chad and Jody Harting. Over the last decade, the company has grown to serve clerical, hospitality, construction, and industrial clients throughout central Minnesota. Jody Harting said, “Penmac’s dedication and commitment to their employees, clients, and communities could not have aligned more perfectly with our culture at ERC. Chad and I look forward to watching this amazing group of employee-owners continue to grow and strengthen the communities they serve.”
Penmac was founded in 1988 in Springfield, Missouri by Patti Penny, and is now America’s largest employee-owned staffing company. With the addition of ERC locations, Penmac now operates 36 offices in 9 states.
