Springfield Public Schools Names Penmac Education Staffing to Provide Substitute Services

Penmac Education Staffing Now Serving 14 Missouri School Districts.

The Springfield Public Schools Board of Education recently voted to approve Penmac Education Staffing as the third-party service provider for substitute services for the 2017-2018 school year.

 

Penmac Staffing Services, Inc., the nation’s largest employee-owned staffing company, opened offices in Springfield, MO in 1988, and has since grown to 33 offices in 8 states. Penmac created its Education Staffing division to provide substitute services to local schools in 2013. It has since grown to provide services to fourteen districts in Missouri, and is still growing. This substitute teacher program assists school districts in recruiting, screening, training, and managing qualified substitute teacher and paraprofessionals.

 

Established in 1867, Springfield Public Schools is today the largest school district in Missouri. The district has 32 elementary schools, five middle schools, four combination schools, five high schools, two early childhood centers, an alternative school, and a gifted school. The district provides education for over 25,000 students in grades K-12, covers over 138 square miles, and employs over 3,800 staff.

All substitute teachers are eligible for Penmac’s health insurance; full-time substitutes will also qualify for retirement benefits. Penmac Education Staffing uses Frontline Absence Management (formerly Aesop), an online substitute management program that allows substitute teachers to specify availability, set assignment preferences, and communicate with classroom teachers.

 

Penmac Education Staffing will be holding five informational meetings for substitutes interested in working in Springfield Public Schools. All current substitute employees are encouraged to attend one of the following meetings:

  • May 22 – 3:30- 4:30 p.m. at Parkview High School Theater, 516 W. Meadowmere St.
  • May 23 – 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Glendale High School Theater, 2727 S. Ingram Mill Road
  • May 23 – 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Glendale High School Theater, 2727 S. Ingram Mill Road
  • May 25 – 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Central High School Theater, 423 E. Central St.
  • May 25 – 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Central High School Theater, 423 E. Central St.
