About Penmac Education Staffing

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education announced today that the Governor's Office is making an additional allocation from Missouri's Coronavirus Relief Fund to support Missourians would like to serve as substitute teachers. Substitute certificate application fees ($50) and/or online training fees ($175) paid between August 18-November 4, 2020 will be reimbursed to the original form of payment, with those payments beginning to process on November 5. Fingerprint background check fees ($41.75)  paid betwen March 1-November 4, 2020 will be reimbursed as well through local education agencies. Penmac Education Staffing substitute teachers will be eligible for these refunds! More details are available at:

We are currently hiring substitute teachers, paraprofessionals, and other positions for these districts in Missouri: Ash Grove, Cabool, Camdenton, Clever, Conway (Laclede County), Glenwood (in West Plains),  Houston, Laquey, Lebanon, Logan Rogersville, Marshfield, Neosho, Republic, Smithton, Spokane, Springfield, Waynesville, West Plains, Willard, Wright City, and Warrenton but we will be expanding to more districts! Benefits for Substitutes

Full-time substitute teachers are eligible for Penmac's health and retirement benefits. Health coverage is compliant with Affordable Care Act requirements. Retirement options include a 401(k) savings plan after one year of service. 


A Missouri Substitute Certificate is required. Requirements for the certificate include background check with fingerprints, Family Care Safety Registry, and an education requirement. The Missouri Department of Secondary and Elementary Education recently announced a temporary program to provide another option to meet the education requirement!

You must either:
1. Have 60 hours of any college credit
2. Complete an online training program

Frontline Absence Management

Penmac Education Staffing uses Frontline Absence Management (formerly known as Aesop). This online interface allows you to easily specify days you're available to work, set preferences for your assignments, and it improves communication with classroom teachers through our online portal.
