Penmac Staffing Services, Inc. has hired David Steward as the new Director of Professional Development for its Education Staffing division.
As Director of Professional Development, Steward will be working with Penmac Education Staffing’s 19 partner school districts and their substitutes to provide training, instruction, and support. Penmac’s training and coaching programs are the hallmarks of the Education Staffing division. This is how we ensure a substitute teacher is prepared to provide quality instruction. Steward will also be working to reach out to other districts about future partnership opportunities.
Most recently, Steward served as Superintendent of Marshfield R-I Schools, being named as the region’s New Superintendent of the Year in 2020 by the Missouri Association of School Administrators. Steward retired from his position as Superintendent at the end of the 2020-2021 school year, and started with Penmac Staffing in July. “I am excited to join the outstanding team at Penmac,” Steward said. “I look forward to continuing to serve school districts and students by training and developing Penmac’s substitute teachers to provide quality instruction on days they are in the classroom.”
Prior to his position as Marshfield R-I Superintendent, Steward served as Assistant Superintendent from 2015-2017, and served a variety of roles in education before joining the Marshfield district. An El Dorado Springs native, Steward’s career began in Lamar, MO, where he taught math and coached football, basketball, and baseball. He served as an Assistant Principal first in Cole County and then in Monett. Steward was the Principal of the Monett High School for thirteen years. A graduate from the University of Missouri, Steward went on to get his Master’s and Specialist degrees from Missouri State University.
“We are very excited that David has joined the Penmac Staffing Team,” said Penmac CEO Tim Massey. “David’s leadership experience will be a necessary ingredient for the future success of the division, and his knowledge of education strengthens our position as we continue to expand our services into Missouri and the surrounding states.”
Today, Penmac is one of the largest employee-owned companies in the United States. The company’s success is due to the hard work and dedication of its more than 150 employee owners. Steward’s extensive experience will be a great addition to the Penmac team.
