The deadline for enrolling in healthcare through the federal Health Insurance Marketplace is approaching quickly. Individuals must sign up for health insurance by this Sunday, February 15, 2015.
Penmac Staffing is offering eligible associates healthcare benefits that are compliant with Affordable Care Act requirements. Penmac has notified those associates who have already met the requirements for eligibility. If you meet the requirements at a later date this year, you will be notified at that point.
If you have not yet been notified regarding eligibility for Penmac health coverage, you can buy insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace, where you are able to compare insurance options and find one to fit your needs and budget. You may also be eligible for subsidies at the state or federal level if you find coverage through the marketplace. Visit Healthcare.gov to learn more.
If you enroll in coverage through the Marketplace, and later become eligible for coverage from Penmac, you will need to report that change to the Marketplace, as it may affect your level of savings or tax credits. Click here to learn more about reporting changes to the Marketplace.
Those who are not insured, either through an employer or through the marketplace, will be charged a penalty fee of $325 per adult and $162.50 per child or 2% of your income, whichever is greater. This fee will be charged when you file your 2015 tax return.
Sign up for insurance through the Marketplace by February 15th, and your coverage could start as early as March 1st.
