Reading is Fundamental (RIF) of Springfield, MO is hosting its ninth annual “Parade of Cookies” fundraiser on Saturday, December 13, 2014, in Penmac’s downtown Springfield offices during the Christmas Parade. RIF of Springfield, a local nonprofit that promotes reading, provides free books three times a year to every 1st and 2nd grader in Springfield schools. Penmac is happy to support such a good cause by hosting the cookie sale.
Stop by to purchase homemade holiday cookies and hot chocolate any time after noon, or order cookies in advance by December 10, 2014, by contacting Peggy Stepp at 417-883-6727 or [email protected] Chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, gingerbread, peanut butter, and other varieties of cookies will be available in half or full dozen quantities. Cookies are $2.00 for half a dozen, $10 for two dozen, or $20 for six dozen. Cookies will be available for pickup in the Penmac Staffing lobby at 447 South Avenue, Springfield, MO 65806. Hot chocolate and coffee will also be available.
All proceeds will be donated to RIF of Springfield, which has given away over 400,000 books to Springfield students during the last 30 years. RIF of Springfield is connected to the national RIF organization, which is the largest children’s literacy nonprofit in the United States.
